Reader Submission - 2010-11 Cape Breton Screaming Eagles Denis Kindl Jersey

Our latest reader submitted jersey comes from Kevin Petitpas, and it's from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and one of our beloved Four Word Team Names, the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles out of Nova Scotia.

Here is Kevin's authoritative write up of his jersey and the team's recent style differences.
The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles of the QMJHL are celebrating the 15th anniversary of the team this year, having moved to Cape Breton from Granby in 1997. The primary logo has remained unchanged since 1997 however the jersey itself has seen three different variations in fifteen years. The jersey I am showcasing is a black game-worn Denis Kindl 2010-11 RBK Edge sweater, the style the Eagles have worn since the CHL adopted the Edge uniform system for the 2009-10 season.

The jersey features horizontal yellow and white stripes around the waist and each arm, a significant change from the V-style striping the Eagles wore prior to the RBK Edge adoption. There are also white stripes across the collarbone on the front and above the nameplate on the back. The neck is lace-up style with white laces.

Because this jersey is from the 2010-11 season it is among the last to feature the RBK vector patches sewn on to the front breast and on the back under the collar, since all new Edge sweaters now feature the Reebok wordmark sewn in instead. The eagle face patches are sewn on to each shoulder and the QMJHL patch is sewn on the front, opposite to the vector. The CHL patch is sewn on the rear hem.

The numbers and nameplate letters are dual-layer white with yellow bordering. The letters are sewn on to the nameplate which was then sewn on to the jersey and the numbers are all sewn on as well.

Denis Kindl was traded to the Eagles mid-season so this jersey only saw approximately fifteen games of use during the remainder of the regular season and one round of the playoffs. There are still a number of black marks noticeable on the white and yellow striping as well as some minor board burns on the elbows despite the limited use. The fight strap shows a slight yellow discoloration.

The jersey was purchased directly from the team and came with a signed letter of authenticity. As the Eagles only wear one set of each jersey per season this is the only black Denis Kindl game-worn sweater from 2010-11.

Thanks to Kevin for taking the time to photograph his jersey and write his detailed story. We really appreciate the efforts involved with sharing our reader's jerseys. It's really a sharp jersey in one of our favorite color schemes and we are always partial to the twin stripes of equal width, something that appeals to our sense of design.

If you have a jersey in your collection that you'd like to share with us and your fellow readers, please submit your pictures and a story to go with it, no matter how brief or detailed, to spyboy1@gmail.com and we look forward to seeing your favorites.
